Do you remember that, last time I went to RHS Harlow Carr Gardens, I showed three large sculptures by Philip Haas (see HERE). They were a series called 'The Four Seasons', based on renaissance paintings by Giuseppe Arcimboldo. I found 'Spring', 'Summer' and 'Winter' but I couldn't track down 'Autumn'. Happily, on my most recent visit, I stumbled across 'Autumn' in the woods, looking rather surprised, as if he'd just sprung out of a barrel! I still like 'Winter' the best... the sculpture anyway, if not the actual season.
Autumn has been tricky to find this year!
ReplyDeleteThey are so well done!
ReplyDeleteI like the sense of whimsy to it.
