Midgeley Wood is located near the bottom of the Glen Tramway. It's a small area, a continuation of the swathe of woodland that arcs round through Shipley Glen to Baildon Bank. It's therefore quite a steeply sloping site, which gives it a very different feel from other local wooded areas like Hirst Woods. There's footpath along the top edge and one along the bottom but to move from one to the other involves an undignified and fairly hair-raising scramble. (I know; I've done it!) Perhaps because of the topography, it seems less well-used than other local woodlands. It is, however, filled with bluebells at this time of year and rather magical because of that.
Definitely magical! Your woodland bluebells are really something else!
ReplyDeleteI love this so much!
ReplyDeleteIt must be a wonderful time of year to wander in the woods.
ReplyDeleteYou've made my day. Thanks for your beautiful photos, as usual; however, particularly with one of my favorites - bluebells. From the base of the mini-mountain in Maine where today it's been chilly and dreary.
