Sheep business

I love to see the earnest discussions that go on among the farmers around the sheep pens at Kilnsey Show. It's a serious business - there's a lot of money and kudos involved if you have an award winner among your flock. The lad above looked really pleased with his Champion sheep.

Meanwhile, the judging was still going on. If you want your sheep to stand still, cup it under the chin - that seems to be the drill. I think the lady in the background was trying it on herself!

  1. That's what I like about following blogs: always learning something new. Now I need to go and find a restless sheep to try out my new-found skill!

  2. The sheep seem to take it all in stride.

  3. Beautiful animals all! So glad to know how to hold onto a sheep! Right. I did see some on a farm the other day, but they were all hunkered down on the ground, and could well have been pigs. We rushed by the field/barnyard pretty quickly.
