Here's a 'chocolate box' picture if ever I saw one. Doesn't it look idyllic though? Having just descended the Dowley Gap lock (in the company of a larger narrowboat you can just see behind), this boatman looks quite at peace with the world as he steers his craft along the canal - even though it was raining!
A peaceful scene.
ReplyDeleteA perfect picture for a jigsaw puzzle. It's good to see the boats able to travel the waterways once more.
ReplyDeleteI like the term "chocolate box picture!" It is definitely a beautiful photo of a peaceful scene.
ReplyDeletePostcard pic! It looks great!
ReplyDeleteA delightful scene. One must now accept that with so many saplings stretching over the water from the towpath the Leeds and Liverpool canal is totally impassable for traditional horse-drawn vessels."Dear CRT: you have done so much dredging recently. Now please put the icing on the cake and cut back all this unwanted towpath foliage."
