Bird/bored

Wondering how to get myself happily and healthily through this latest lockdown... It does feel rather daunting. The last time we endured this much restriction it was Spring, the days were lengthening, the weather was beautiful and it was all 'new' and therefore quite interesting for a time. Now it's mostly cold, dark, muddy and boring! I think I will have to force myself to go out for a walk every day, even when I don't feel like it. Given that there's little of beauty to photograph, apart from the things I've already tried a million times, I'm going to have to work harder at that too. I'm thinking I'll need to set themes and challenges, as well as forcing myself to slow down and be more 'mindful' about what I'm doing.

With that in mind, I set out to look for 'minimal' subjects. This blackbird (?) up in the elm tree stayed still just long enough for a shot. With this kind of image, you can play around forever... and then I'm never sure which version I like best.

  1. You are a member of a camera club. What are they up to these days?

  2. Yes, do interesting editing now! I don't have a favorite, but do like the ideas behind each one!

  3. I really like that middle one.
I am tired with my old walks and it is -9˚C here today so not a day for a really long walk to new areas. Let's hope for normal soon.
