Pheasant among the poppies

I chanced upon a little patch of poppies on the edge of a cornfield - and surprised a cock pheasant, who was ambling around among the flowers. Poppies are a rare sight around where I live but you're much more likely to see them in the arable fields of the Vale of York and the Yorkshire Wolds. There was only a sprinkling here but it was a lovely sight with the view and the storm clouds.

  2. I wonder if he thinks he's camouflaged in those surroundings...? ;-)
