In the eye of the beholder

Shipley's municipal swimming pool was built in 1974, and is not exactly the most beautiful building. It's functional, rather than aesthetically pleasing. It is however, a good community resource and several generations of children have been taught to swim here, including my own offspring.

That tree, however, clad in light spring green as the new buds unfurl, struck me as having an almost Japanese quality, with its flourishes and angles.

  1. Yes, a very attractive tree to find in such a setting.

  2. It's just right, the softness of natural tree branches and new leaves against the building's geometrical lines. Good to know what goes on behind those windows too!
