A bit of Pride

The patriotic Jubilee bunting has mostly been removed now, to be replaced in some places by rainbow Pride flags. June is 'Pride month' in the UK, when we celebrate the achievements and gradual acceptance of the LGBT+ community. I think the idea of a month of commemoration each year started in the USA after the Stonewall riots in the late 1960s.  We've all come a long way since then but there is still a need to improve awareness, understanding, acceptance, justice and equal rights. We are a rainbow people and Saltaire is clearly committed to showing that, in our own small ways.
