Together We Rise

I had my youngest granddaughter to stay for a few nights during October half-term. We went along to Lister Park to see this year's Lantern Parade. 'Together We Rise' was created by Cecil Green Arts, a community arts organisation, who run lantern-making workshops with schools and families and encourage people to come together as one community and join in the fun. There were several bands in the parade, creating a great atmosphere.

There's something magic about twilight, anyway, as the evenings draw in and the year moves towards its close. Add in a few hundred paper lanterns, sparkling LED lights and some giant illuminated puppets and it is certainly an enthralling spectacle, especially for the children involved.

  1. That Indigenous woman standing, with your granddaughter next to it, was my favorite. It did look very magical!
