One small girl...

Bolton Abbey Estate: One small girl with loads of energy; a very gloomy, damp, foggy October day; some wonderful (albeit soggy-looking) autumn colours; meandering stepping logs and a long bridge to enjoy racing backwards and forwards across. (The stepping stones in the river are out of action these days.)

A fun day out - and yes, that is an ice-cream booth at the far end of the bridge, open, hoping to tempt passers-by. Despite the gloom, it wasn't a cold day.

  1. There's such a joyous rythym to walking on stepping stones (or blocks)...you just have to choose your stride for each one, and keep going! It's disaster to stop.
