Even with my newly discovered love of knitting, I don't think I'll be bothering with post box toppers! Whilst I can appreciate the skill that goes into them, they seem akin to 'graffiti' to me. This one (crocheted) has recently appeared on a post box nearby.
Knitted figures are perhaps more appealing, especially if you want gifts for children. Our local yarn shop has a number of them with a Christmassy theme in the window.

This reminds me of my mom who used to knit little gnomes for a local Christmas Market in the village where she lived in her retirement years :)
ReplyDeleteI do admire the toppers but always think the effort could be put to better use fret about them getting spoilt by the weather. Guess I am more wool worrier than warrior.
ReplyDeleteLove the little mice!
ReplyDeleteThe wee mice are so cute.
ReplyDeleteI love the mice. The problem with any hobby is that one keeps looking for new modes of expression. As an old time fiddler once said, listening to a virtuoso performance of some avant garde piece, "I'd like to be able to do that ... and not."
ReplyDeleteThe mice are adorable!! I have never learned to knit and can only do basic crochet, so I admire anyone who has such skill, creativity and patience.
ReplyDeleteThese are neat!
