So. Much. Rain! I have been making myself go out for very soggy walks, but it doesn't lead to any inspiration for photography. No photos to play with equals no fun for me, so I resorted to looking for subject matter inside. I found myself drawn to the colour orange. (I can't imagine why! 😂 😂 Heck, someone's taking up too much space in my head rent-free these days!) Despite its current connotations, it's quite a cheery colour, good for brightening up these dark winter days. I look forward very much to a time when it's no longer associated with all that is at the same time both evil and comedic.

For me, orange is the colour of October/November, but I actually enjoy it all year round. For instance, I like eating fresh oranges this time of year, and I am wearing a warm hoodie in a rusty orange colour as we speak :-)
ReplyDeleteThe colour does not come with any negative association for me, although of course I am aware of what it means right now for a lot of people.
Orange is for me the colour of my youth - the 1970's. Orange floral wallpaper adorned the living room walls and we had matching cushions on the brown sofa! I had dresses in orange flower power fabric too. Now my winter coat is a deep orange and I use a bright orange handbag. It's a very cheery colour and it's a shame it has become associated with the nasty man across the Atlantic.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely colorful photos...and it is a color of brightness definitely! Psychically I think it conveys a positive feeling for most of us. The hair dyed power-monger among us is an aberration in many ways...and I'll go for Chrysanthemums of the color any day.
ReplyDeleteThat is a bright and cheerful post.
ReplyDeleteA very nice collage! I'm glad to see a positive spin on what is a very cheerful color.
