Clear skies and cold nights... I woke in the night and I thought the lights were on outside as it was so bright but, when I looked out, it was luminous moonlight. When I woke again as daylight dawned, the full moon was right between the houses and the church tower. It was the Wolf Moon, a 'supermoon', which occurs when the moon is at its closest point to earth in its elliptical orbit.
Splendid to see, though I really don't have the right camera equipment to do it full justice in a photo.

ReplyDeleteWe've had that very bright moonshine last night, too. I came into the kitchen to look out of the window as is my habit last thing before going to bed, and found the kitchen floor lit up by the moon, and the sky could have almost passed for a cloud-patterned midday sky, it was so bright! I did take a photo with my mobile but of course it can only convey a little of what it actually looked like.
Isn't it lovely that we're looking at the same moon? It never ceases to thrill me when I see it so bright like this.
