Familiar joy

I try to go out for a walk most days and, if I'm not going anywhere special, I'll just stroll down to Hirst Lock and walk along the canal towpath into Saltaire before slogging back up the hill! Some days it's nicer than others. Some days, when the sun's shining and the temperature is comfortable, it's a real joy. These are just phone pics so the clouds are a bit too bright but never mind.

The stretch with the overhanging trees is showing clear signs of autumn. Maybe we'll have some good colour this year.

  1. Colour is coming slowly this year here, but the weather man on our local TV news said yesterday that autumn is actually coming faster than usual. He probably meant the drop in temperature we have experienced two Sundays ago, from 25C to just 10C within 24 hours.
The walk along the canal looks beautiful, but slogging up a hill at its end (and not at the beginning) could take away some of the joy for me - I am not good at going uphill :-)

  2. Good to walk as much as possible, it’s the up and downhill that do the most good as I keep telling myself.

  3. Waking up before 6 am I'm looking forward to a long day today...and not going to get time for a walk unfortunately. Loved seeing these beautiful shots of the canal and especially the leafy one with reflections!
