The cherry blossom is coming into flower around Saltaire. Different trees seem to come into blossom at different times. On the last evening of our camera club season, I took my camera with me to photograph the blossom on the trees beside the path leading to the church. (We meet in a church hall.) In previous years it's been in bloom, but this year, not a single bud was out. Perhaps it's because Easter is late this year so we haven't needed a week's hiatus in the meeting programme.
In contrast, the blossom on the trees around Saltaire's almshouses is looking blooming lovely.
Here in the south of Germany, cherry trees have shed their white or pink petals in many places, but some trees - like the one in front of my kitchen window - still look covered in a white cloud, a beautiful sight first thing in the morning when I come into the kitchen for coffee.
ReplyDeleteI missed the cherry blossoms while I was out west in the desert country of Colorado. But dogwoods are still in full bloom here. Loved your two springy shots!
ReplyDeleteAlways lovely to see the world blossoming again after winter! Here I know we have different varieties of pink cherry blossom trees, those in the main park downtown are of a later kind and are not yet in bloom, while some others are almost past their prime now and beginning to drop petals to the ground.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen any trees flowering yet but I am looking forward to seeing them.
ReplyDeleteTrees here don't blossom until May. Beautiful!
